College Application Steps & Strategies

We want to make your application to Algonquin College as seamless as possible. Here are ten general steps to ensure you get the training you need for the job you want.

1. Attend an Algonquin presentation at your High School. Speak with your guidance counselor. Take a look at our Facebook page. Ask questions. Get fast answers. Go to ontariocolleges.ca. Remember, select up to five programs — with no more than three program choices at one college.

2. Make sure your application is submitted by February 1st in order to get ‘equal consideration’.

3. Take a campus tour. Visit an Algonquin College campus. 4. Offers of Admission are mailed to applicants on February 5, for non-highly-competitive programs.

5. Visit March Break activities (March 11 – 15). And Spring Open House (April 6).

6. Confirm your acceptance. There’s a May 1st deadline. Need help paying for tuition? Think about OSAP, scholarships and bursaries.

7. Fees are due by July 15th.

8. All outstanding admission requirements must be met by August 1.

9. Log on to your Algonquin account. View your time table.

10. Connect with Algonquin. See you on campus or online!
